Steve Pierce Announces Union Endorsements from UAW and Huron Valley Central Labor Council AFL-CIO(Ypsilanti, Michigan—July 19, 2006) The Steve Pierce for Mayor Campaign is pleased to announce that Steve Pierce has been endorsed by UAW Region 1A and the Huron Valley Central Labor Council AFL-CIO.Steve Pierce is thankful for the trust and support from the unions and their members. "The race for Mayor of Ypsilanti is about jobs and protecting our quality of life," said Steve Pierce. "Ypsilanti's future is dependent on new jobs and new residents moving to the community. The City Income Tax will discourage new investment in our community. It is a sledge hammer blow to the community reeling from the loss of major manufacturing jobs and businesses over the last 11 years." These endorsements are added to a growing list of Unions and Union members that are all supporting and endorsing Steve Pierce to be the next Mayor of Ypsilanti.
