About Steve

Steve Pierce, 43, makes his living as an Internet entrepreneur and designs network and wireless computer systems. He has started several successful companies, including HDL, a web-hosting and Internet services company that hosts thousands of websites and email accounts worldwide.

Steve believes it is important to give back to the community. Since 1993, HDL has provided over $100,000 worth of free services for numerous community groups, non-profits, and neighborhood associations.

Steve and his wife of 18 years, Maggie Brandt, moved to Michigan in 1997. Maggie is a trauma surgeon at Henry Ford Hospital and a Lt. Col. in the Army Reserve. Steve's and Maggie's passion for historic preservation attracted them to Ypsilanti in 1999 where they first acquired the old Kresge building downtown. That inspired them to then undertake the restoration of the Glover House, the 1893 Queen Anne house on South Washington Street, which was the former offices of Child and Family Services. After an extensive renovation, it is now their home where they live with their two dogs, Dax and Chile. Steve earned a bachelor's degree in business from the University of New Mexico and in his spare time enjoys driving his original 1968 Mercury Cougar.
